Gaston
Gaston
Rapper Gaston has been a central figure in Senegalese hip hop for nearly twenty years. With four solo albums and two international collaborations, he is one of the country’s most prolific hardcore hip hop artists. He is renowned as a lyricist and songwriter whose work—in French and Wolof—tackles the sometimes-harsh social realities of urban Senegal while also highlighting the beauty of local cultural and religious customs.
Reskp
Reskp
Rapper ResKp (from the French rescapé, meaning survivor) is known for his musical commentaries on the complex struggles of daily life in Senegal, combining local instrumentation and vocals with contemporary hip hop beats and socially conscious lyrics in French and his mother tongue, Wolof. With his newest album, Sarax, ResKp reclaims his place as a master lyricist and poet while pushing the boundaries of hip hop musicality in his country and internationally.
Otodojo
Otodojo
Ithaca's very own legendary techno curator, Maro Kariya, brings a unique aura of elegance and power to his DJ sets. Responsible for awe inspiring late-night lineups through his event series, Microtones, Kariya has become an iconic fixture in Ithaca's DIY electronic scene.
